Bedminster is a community situated in the middle of the state, east to west and north to south. It offers luxury accommodations with estates, condominiums and townhouses. The local leadership and its residents have done a magnificent job of maintaining the large estates, thereby preserving the rural character of the community. Bedminster has four historic village neighborhoods: Pluckemin, Bedminster, Lamington, and Pottersville. The main streets in these villages are small, and most businesses are located in former homes, mainly charming old Victorians and colonials from the 1920's. In a nod to English ancestry, fox-hunting clubs and horse racing comprise some of the main social events of the modern-day Bedminster resident, hunting calls can be heard as mounted sportsmen bound through the undergrowth. Since many of the estates are contiguous, foxhunters are given access to each other's property. While resident children attend Bedminster-based grammar and middle schools, they attend high school at Bernardsville High School. Alternatively, parents may elect to send their children to one of the area private schools, including Far Hills Country Day, Gil St. Bernards and the Willow School. The United States Equestrian Center Foundation, Trump International, Hamilton Farm Golf Club, and Natirar are just a few of the well-renowned area landmarks. Because of the convenient location near Interstates 287 and 78, the commute from Bedminster to Manhattan is not uncommon for many township residents.
