    Infinity Blue

Welcome to a private paradise of old world charm, luxury, imagination and innovation in the most enchanting destination of the Ionian ! Here, on Corfu's north-east coast, affectionately known as Kensington-on-Sea, you can enjoy one of the Mediterranean’s most sublime views, where two entirely different cultures face each other as if they were simply on opposite sides of a shimmering lake. Infinity Blue, the jewel of Corfu, is a spectacular villa with an unparalleled 180° view of the Ionian Sea set on a two acre clifftop site with private seafront access.Virtually glass-walled along its entire frontage, the villa overlooks the sea, east to the coast and the mountains of the opposite side with the magical site of ancient Butrint in full view, and south to mainland Greece and the Ionian islands. Everything about this majestic property is designed to exceed expectations for comfort, space and luxurious style. Most interesting about its contemporary design are the Ethnic highlights of traditional artefacts from India and Marocco with some touches of Colonial living.

INDOOR LIVING AREA : The entrance to the villa opens into a spacious sitting room with oak floors and exposed ceiling beams, where a plantation ceiling fan strikes an unusual note. The ceiling is lit with linear LED up lighting, remote-controlled electric curtains that, when necessary, shade the windows with their breathtaking view south down the Corfu Channel and east to ancient Butrint. The sitting room is tastefully furnished with a discreet palette of muted colours that leave the view to be the dominant feature. Amongst other interesting pieces, there is a grand piano, a large coffee table made from bronze ancient doors from Jaipur and plenty of seating in the form of three enormous sofas grouped around a large marble fireplace.

On the west side of the sitting room there is a study with direct access to the outside terrace. The dining room has a large dining table seating 12 persons. A fireplace is offset by comfortable armchairs for pre-dinner drinks.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS :Spread over 1,000 square metres, the villa can host up to 14 guests in seven bedrooms, including one master bedroom with a private terrace. All bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms and dressing-rooms.

The Master bedroom has access to a private landscaped area with its own covered Jacuzzi. It features a dressing room, en-suite bath and shower room and its own private terrace. In addition there are six air conditioned bedroom suites all with en-suite bathrooms and equipped with super king-sized beds, two of which can be made up as twins if desired and all with dressing rooms. All bedrooms are furnished with particularly comfortable beds with bespoke padded headboards and matching seating.

Bedrooms 3 and 4 have en-suite his-and-hers walk in shower rooms, TVs and dressing rooms and can be also made up as twins. Bedrooms 5 and 6 with ensuite bath and shower rooms are in an independent guest suite with its own entrance; they share a private sitting/dining room all opening on to a beautiful private terrace overlooking the sea and the superb views. It also has a fully equipped kitchen.

KITCHEN :The kitchen has an enormous granite-topped island unit in the centre where it can seat 4 persons at bar seats. There are two ovens, a microwave oven, coffee machine, 2 warming drawers, 6-ring gas hob, TV and plenty of storage, plus all the usual fixtures that you would expect to find in a well-equipped kitchen. Adjoining the kitchen is a walk in larder/storage room, staff office and staff entrance. There are steps from the kitchen door leading to the bar area and main pool.

    About The Area

Sitting in the most northwesterly corner of Greece, Corfu is an elegant and cosmopolitan island, wearing the mantle of its colourful Venetian history with style.‘Somewhere between Calabria and Corfu the blue really begins...you are aware of a change in the heart of things: aware of the horizon beginning to stain at the rim of the world: aware of islands coming out of the darkness to meet you’. So begins Lawrence Durrell’s 1945 ode to Corfu, Prospero’s Cell. Even today, visitors to the island often arrive by sea, approaching from Italy in the west, of the Greek mainland in the east. Emerging in the early morning sunshine, the pastel-hued houses above Corfu Town’s old port are a jumble of slim tiers with narrow passages runningbetween them, made brilliant with washing hung out to dry from every balcony like festive bunting. The tall Venetian mansions display ancient coats of coloured paint, blurred by successive winters and giving visitors to the town the feeling of stepping into a watercolour painting. The town is centred on a wide tree-lined esplanade called the Spianada, whose French arcades echo the Rue de Rivoli. A drop of Britishness is to be found on the noble sweep of this square, which is transformed into a cricket pitch throughout the summer - the world’s only working sports field within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Meanwhile, the Corfiot countryside boasts an elegiac greenery, unrivalled across Greece and contrasting remarkably with the solemn barrenness of the Aegean. Bathed in brilliant white sunlight throughout the summer months, the winter rains ensure a sublime frondescence across the island, with the inland valleys thickly carpeted with wild flowers, studded with gnarled olive trees and dense groves of stiffly swaying cypresses. The sophisticated north-east is known as Kensington-on- Sea, and is the site of the Rothschild family’s imposing summer villa. It is here that the luxury villa lifestyle comes into its own, with the hillsides sprinkled with secluded, high-end properties boasting private infinity pools and awe-inspiring sea views, with the snowcapped Albanian-Epirote mountains rising mysteriously in the east.
