Trevor Blackwood

Born in Florida, raised in Michigan, but as he says, “I grew up in the Army.” A former Military Police Officer turn Luxury Apparel Buyer might not be a story you are used to hearing. It is this unique combination that defines Trevor and drives him to be successful in every venture he pursues. “I credit the military for my strategic and rational thinking, and my time in the fashion industry challenged me to think creatively.” Both characteristics he feels are needed to be an exceptional and impactful real estate agent.

During Trevor’s ten-year in the fashion industry, he wore many hats, including buyer, designer, celebrity stylist for the Oscars, SAG, and Independent Spirit Awards, print and television. Even stepping out from behind the camera to spend time as an On-Air Fashion expert for the Home Shopping Network. He has traveled the world seeking out the next big trends, negotiating deals with some of the top apparel brands.

Prior to joining TTR Sotheby’s International Realty Trevor was the apparel buyer for Starboard Cruise Services (LVMH). Launching over seventy brands across eighty cruise ships worldwide. “In the cruise industry deadlines are nonnegotiable. When/if a delivery misses the boat, you literally miss the boat. A sense of urgency and attention to detail is a must.”

Trevor, his partner Eugene, and their rescue pup, Wookiee, relocated to Northwest DC from Miami. During his downtime (when he can get it) Trevor loves hosting dinner parties, putting his Sommelier training to good use. “When people walk into our house, I want them to get a sense of who we are, not just as a couple, but as individuals who came together to share this space and this life. Places we have been, things we have experienced. That’s what homeownership means to me, a place where your memories aren’t just created, they are remembered and displayed.
