Katherine Martin

Katherine Martin is a born-and-bred Washingtonian who grew up to be an award-winning Realtor licensed in DC and Maryland. A life well lived in the DMV has given Katherine a keen awareness of neighborhoods, area schools, and the ever-present traffic patterns. Katherine, a proud descendant of Abraham Lincoln’s law partner – Billy Herndon, grew up in Chevy Chase, MD, with four siblings, and graduated from BCC High School and Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY.

She left the area for an advertising career in Manhattan and later to live in Sweden with her husband and newborn son. She has since come to her senses and returned to raise her three children in the city she loves most in the world. She joined her mother, Gilda Herndon, in the real estate world in 2007, and the two became a powerhouse team. Before retiring in 2015 after more than 25 years in the business, Gilda taught Katherine everything she knew about buying and selling homes. Katherine credits her mom with helping her hone her intuitive and personal approach to making clients' real estate dreams a reality. 'I love living and raising my family in Washington, DC,' Katherine says. 'I've lived here for most of my life and still haven't exhausted the seemingly endless supply of parks, museums, great restaurants, and all manner of sports. The DMV cannot be beat.

Helping clients navigate their moves to and within the area truly brings out the best in me. I love getting to know my clients and understanding what they want and why. Between family, career, and city, I have found my sweet spot.' When Katherine isn't showing houses, you can find her at the kitchen line playing pickleball (IYKYK). An early adopter, she has become passionate about the sport and has brought many of her clients along for the ride.
