Michael Clancy was born and raised in Spring Lake Heights and currently resides in Wall Township with his wife Nicole, a local school teacher. The Clancy family has deep roots in this area as lifelong residents and business owners in Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights, Sea Girt, Manasquan and Brielle.
Michael has dedicated his entire life to serving not only his local community, but Monmouth County as a whole. He attended St. Catharine Grammar School in Spring Lake and Saint Rose High School in Belmar before graduating from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA.
Michael has previously worked for the Spring Lake Beach Department, the Spring Lake and Spring Lake Heights Police Departments and was also a volunteer with the Spring Lake First Aid Squad. Michael continued his law enforcement career in Ocean Township where he quickly ascended the ranks. However it was Michael’s superior investigative skills that earned him a position with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office in their elite Major Crimes Bureau. In addition to investigating the county’s most high-profile crimes, Michael was also the lead hostage negotiator for the county-wide swat team.
In addition to awards related to his professional career, Michael has been honored by a number of local organizations such as the St. Catharine & St. Margaret Parish, the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick of the Jersey Shore and the 200 Club of Monmouth County.
Michael spends most of his free time with his family and friends. Michael also dedicates a considerable amount of time promoting awareness of and fundraising for those in Monmouth and Ocean County battling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. When time permits he can often be found at two of his favorites spots, on the beach at Spring Lake’s North End or at the Belmar Fishing Club.
After retiring from the county prosecutor’s office, Michael began a second career in real estate and joined Ward Wight Sotheby’s International Realty in Spring Lake. Michael takes great pride in his keen eye and his attention to every detail. Michael’s intimate knowledge of this special area, coupled with his extensive experience in investigations and negotiations, makes him an truly unique asset for both buyers and sellers in this real estate market.
