Christy Butler

Christy Butler prides herself on her integrity, strong commitment to her community, and understanding the intricacies of both the buying and selling process. Having moved 11 times in 22 years she and her family now proudly call Northern Virginia home. From Tennessee to North Carolina to Alaska, Christy has learned through her own experiences in the military community, in her advanced education, and in her work experiences how important “home” is. Christy’s experiences buying and selling have allowed her to sharpen her knowledge of the real estate market, as well as understand how to execute valuable buying and selling methods. For most, buying or selling a home is the most important economic decision they will ever make; and choosing the right residence is much more than a financial decision. It is a choice that will influence all other aspects of one’s life.

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree at the University of Dayton in Ohio, Christy began her professional career as a juvenile justice counselor where she served as a trusted advocate and offered stability to those entering the juvenile justice system. Christy then went on to get her master’s degree in Public Administration from Murray State University while leading a professional career in the financial industry. Christy delicately managed relationships between large banks and retailers while swiftly overseeing transactions and constantly monitoring their technology platforms.

Christy’s husband’s military career took them to Alaska. With her husband deployed she began a job as a contractor for the Army working at Army Community Services. Christy jumped into a role serving as a Family Readiness and Deployment Specialist, helping prepare families as service members got ready to deploy. To the military family, she served as a leader and mentor but also a friend and shoulder to cry on through years of deployments. Her desire to serve the community complimented her and her husband’s wish to start a family. As their children grew, Christy continued to identify opportunities to serve the community, as an active member of the local parent-teacher association and culminated her volunteerism as the President of the board of a regional swim team-leading a paid, professional staff. Her service awards and recognition were noteworthy, including the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

In addition to its incredible marketing platform, name recognition, and array of services, she chose TTR Sotheby’s as her real estate family because of the company’s service to the community and its well-known reputation for supporting a variety of non-profit organizations. Her husband continues to serve on active duty at the Pentagon. When Christy is not helping others buy or sell a home, she enjoys biking on the many community trails in the area, walking her German Shepherd, Huck, or watching her son and daughter compete in sports.
