An accomplished Real Estate Broker for more than 30 years, Barbara Rose (remembered by some as Barbara Callaway) is an expert in cultivating and successfully managing financially and logistically complex high-dollar real estate transactions in New Jersey, North Carolina, and South Carolina. A native of Princeton, NJ, Barbara has enjoyed an incredibly successful career in real estate, having worked with Callaway Henderson Sotheby’s International Realty in her hometown, HM Properties in Charlotte, NC, and now Daniel Ravenel Sotheby’s International Realty in Charleston, SC.
Barbara’s passion for her hometown led to her support of McCarter Theater in Princeton, Princeton University Art Museum, and D&R Greenway Land Trust, and Friends of Princeton Open Space. Additionally, she was an active Trustee of The Princeton Day School Alumni Board for six years and continues on as Class Agent.
Barbara’s accolades and accomplishments are as diverse as her clientele. While in Princeton, Barbara’s real estate success earned her the prestigious New Jersey Circle of Excellence Award at the Silver Level. She has been certified as a Permaculture Designer, by way of the Yestermorrow Design and Build School in Vermont. Carrying this certification allows Barbara to counsel clients on how to create sustainable, eco-sensitive, economically viable habitats. Barbara also served as President of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey (NOFA-NJ), establishing the first Beginning Farmer Program in the Northeast and continues to hold the National Association of Realtors GREEN Designation.
Having fallen in love with the Lowcountry decades ago when she lived in Beaufort, SC, Barbara migrated to Charleston in 2002 as a real estate broker and became the Marketing and Sales Director for The Albemarle Riverview Condominiums in West Ashley. Her sales acumen speaks for itself as she single-handedly pre-sold 51% of the 65 units in the first year of the project. She lived on Kiawah Island for 3 years before purchasing in Downtown Charleston. Barbara is guided by her core values: honesty, integrity, professionalism and a strong work ethic. She is known in the real estate community for her ability to get the job done; facilitating cooperation and teamwork among buyers, sellers, attorneys, agents and lenders. She is currently a member of the Charleston Library Society and serves on the Board of Directors for her condominimum HOA at 33 Calhoun Street. After work, Barbara enjoys golfing, hiking, biking, cooking and gardening in the Lowcountry and is the proud mother of 3 grown children and 2 grandsons.
