Laura Avila was raised in the River Oaks Area of Houston with her two sisters. She attended the Awty International School with her sister, Sarah, while the youngest, Elizabeth, graduated from Episcopal High School. Laura is cloaked in an impressive array of scholastic accolades, receiving two diplomas, the full International Baccalaureate, as well as a high school diploma. She graduated with honors from Trinity University in San Antonio where she majored in Sociology and minored in Business Administration and History. In addition, she supplemented her Business minor by completing the Marketing Certificate program at Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business.
Laura’s early career was spent in Dallas where she was employed by Fossil Group. While at Fossil, she was required to adapt and multitask as her role was continually evolving. She was faced with overcoming challenges in fields where she had no prior experience. Regardless, she continually exceeded expectations. She founded and expanded the Fossil Foundation to a global scale, extending it from the Americas to Canada, Europe and Asia. In addition, her extraordinary management and problem-solving skills played an integral part in navigating the global challenges of launching Fossil’s wearable technology.
Prior to moving back to Houston, Laura was a member of a top-producing team at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s in Dallas. It came as no surprise that her transition to real estate was met with great success as she incorporated her outstanding organizational skills and keen eye for detail into every transaction. She is a natural at problem solving and understands the importance of extending extraordinary service to her clients. Laura’s goal is to provide a seamless transaction from contract to closing. Her negotiation skills shine as she is focused and assertive with every deal brokered. High energy and a strong work ethic are a winning combination for this consummate professional.
Laura resides in the Upper Kirby area of Houston with her husband, Matthew Cain, and their two dogs. In addition, she is an active member of the Junior League of Houston, attends St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and is an avid equestrian.
