Theo Adamstein

Theo Adamstein has lived in Washington DC since 1982 and comes to TTR Sotheby's International Realty with over 25 years experience in architecture, design and construction. In addition, his experience extends into the areas of photography, graphics and exhibition design. Theo was co-founder and principal of the award-winning architectural and design firm, Adamstein and Demetriou Architects, which was recognized as one of the leading design firms in the region. Adamstein & Demetriou's work ranged from high-end residential to commercial and hospitality design and over 100 built projects were completed during this period. Theo grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, became a US citizen in 1987, and is a graduate of the Cooper Union School of Architecture in New York. He has two sons, Nicholas and Alexander, both Maret graduates and now studying at Washington University, St. Louis and Virginia Tech. Respected throughout the industry, Theo's extensive knowledge of design, renovation and new construction gives him a unique advantage when working with real estate clients. With his background and experience, Theo offers assistance to home sellers by advising on potential modifications to a property that may produce a greater financial return based on current conditions and style trends. In working with buyers, he will search for special properties and will identify which offerings may perfectly suit the needs of his clients. He has the credibility to act as a client's advocate and representative and can assist in every aspect of the real estate transaction. Theo's extensive business experience, negotiating skills, enthusiasm and local knowledge allows him to offer a well rounded service to his clients. As a member of the TTR Sotheby's International Realty sales team, Theo offers personal attention and smart advice, with a designer's eye and a builders sensibility. Theo has served on numerous Washington arts boards, including the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Washington Ballet, Washington Project for the Arts and has always been active in the local community.
