Trude Fitelson

40 years as a preservation specialist has given Trude a unique insight into the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of buying and selling in a specialized real estate market. Working in the Thousand Islands region Trude has developed a special understanding of the highly individualized island and waterfront communities. From the quaint and privately held historic community of Thousand Island Park where she spearheaded the historic preservation movement in the 70s to the rural riverfront villages of Clayton and Alexandria Bay she has developed a keen sense of the charm and personalities found in these unique settings. Trude has strived to be an active member of the Thousand Islands community serving as a preservation board advisor for Thousand Island Park co-author of the Thousand Island Park Preservation code and past board member of the Thousand Island Land Trust. In addition to devoting her time to the community around her Trude enjoys being a part of many surrounding organizations such as serving as a past board member of the Thousand Islands Art Center patron of the Clayton Opera House and Friend of the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton NY. In 2008 Trude received the “Excellence in Historic Preservation Award” from the Preservation League of New York State as an honor for her work in historic preservation for the Thousand Island Park community. Trude has summered for her entire life in this National Register Historic district on Wellesley island in the Thousand Islands region. Trude Fitelson has the expertise experience and appreciation necessary to understand a property’s true market value. She knows that a home is not merely an investment.
