John Harney

John Harney is a veteran real estate broker in the Litchfield Hills. John grew up in Salisbury. His parents, John and Elyse, managed the White Hart Inn from the 1960's to the early 1980's. His father later founded the internationally recognized Harney & Sons Fine Teas. John has personally closed over 100 million dollars in real estate sales. His graciousness, honesty, and reputation for integrity makes him easy to talk to - and impossible to forget. After graduating from Williams College, John served as an infantry officer in the United States Marines Corps. He later spent time in Denver, Colorado, working for an oil exploration company, and then worked with homeless and troubled youths throughout the west. In 1999, John returned to his family and hometown, and joined forces with his mother in selling real estate. After owning his own company for seven years, John joined William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty, the largest Sotheby's affiliate in the world, to offer the powerful reach of global connections to his local clients. John feels that each real estate listing deserves the power of top-notch marketing that extends beyond local borders.

John has earned a strong reputation for carefully handling each client's diverse needs. He can usually be found showing houses big and small, pulling deeds at town hall, walking land and farms, or hiking the mountains of NW Connecticut.
