The world is a fascinating place. It is made up of that special variety of personalities, ideas and experiences that lets us think, laugh, wonder, and create. Amongst us are leaders that help guide us through those interactions that build our relationships and develop lasting friendships as we learn from each other. Being an agent of Sotheby’s International Realty allows me to be one of those leaders.
Each time I meet someone new, whether they are a new client, colleague, or industry professional, I begin with a smile and stop to listen and learn from them. In doing so, I am always able to find a common interest that allows me to develop that new friendship and relationship. It may be something I know that can help them reach their goal. It may be a common experience that we can both share. Whatever it is, I know there’s an opportunity for me to work diligently with them to achieve success.
My opportunities to develop my leadership skills started at an early age. From my days with the Kiwanis sponsored youth service organizations in both high school and college, to my first career in Aerospace leading multi-functional teams that designed, manufactured, and launched rockets to place satellites in orbit or that built the International Space Station. It took great leadership skills to manage and coordinate these talented people who each had great things to offer. To this day, I still think back to those many faces that helped me become me. Whether it was the young girl in her wheelchair who benefitted from the funds that I helped raise for the March of Dimes of Orange County, or the configuration management clerk who needed a better understanding of the difference between an Engineering bill of material and a Manufacturing bill of material, or the USAF Astronaut that had concerns about the importance of “no sharp edges” on the equipment that he would be using while assembling portions of the International Space Station, I always stopped to listen first and offer my solutions second.
Today, I offer this experience to my clients of new and old. Home buying and selling can be a confusing and uncertain experience, and I work closely with those clients to help them understand the process and feel comfortable with their informed decisions. Along the way, we get to learn from each other and work together to arrive at a positive result. I have been both the buyer and seller with many of my own real estate transactions and understand what each side looks and feels like from each personal perspective. I continue to stay abreast of the latest industry technology and education to help me offer the best experience for my clients. But most importantly, I look forward to that opportunity to meet that new person and create that new relationship. I know there is always something that we can share. Whether it is my knowledge of wine as a level 2 Sommelier, or my certifying you in a life saving CPR, First Aid, Defibrillation skill, I feel we can make a connection.
