Mia Cottet’s fascination with real estate began as a child in a very mobile household and was fostered by a life in show business on the world stage providing a keen understanding of style - architecturally and socially. Spending many weekends previewing homes and researching their histories, both for herself and recreationally, very soon a career in real estate was born. Having navigated the exciting, but very public world of entertainment from being a guest on the Tonight Show to the ups and downs of pilot season, Mia understands first-hand the specific pressures and needs of the entertainment professional. First choreographed as a dancer and then directed as an actress, Mia enjoys working collaboratively with her clients, from prepping a property for sale to winning in a multiple offer market. From Oscar winners to first-time buyers, Mia loves the thrill of seeing her clients realize their real estate dreams.
From Amish beginnings in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as a child Mia moved nine times in 11 years. Leaving home for New York City at the age of 14, Mia attended the prestigious School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center, home of the New York City Ballet. Growing taller than her partners on pointe, Mia then became an international showgirl and magician’s assistant, dancing and singing (into a fake mic) and performing for audiences from Japan to Monaco where she performed for the glitterati of Europe, including the Prince of Monaco and his family.
With New York City as a base, Mia was busy as a commercial actress and soon moved to Hollywood at the urging of her agents to pursue a career in television and film. Booking her first audition for a sitcom, Mia appeared in many shows as a guest star and series regular and in comedy films such as “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion”, the Coen Brother’s “Intolerable Cruelty”, and “The Tuxedo” with Jackie Chan.
An owner and board member of two Midcentury Modern time capsule condos herself, Mia has been able to indulge her passion for retro renovation. She is a long-time resident of Los Angeles and dual citizen with France and her son attends the Lycée International de Los Angeles. When not working, Mia enjoys historical walking tours, live art, treasure hunting at vintage shops, and listening to opera with her little boy.
